FIFA WORLD CUP 2010: Day 3 (13 June 2010)

SLOVENIA 1 - ALGERIA 0

With the giants of Group C (England & USA) drawn to a stalemate, one of the two "no-hopers" had to benefit somehow. Playing against 10 men, Slovenia got their 3 points from a Robert Koren goal, with the Algerian keeper Chaouchi doing a Robert Green hommage. The Slavic Alpine state now sits tall on top of Group C. Rating : 2.5/5

GHANA 1 - SERBIA 1

Africans vs Slavs Part 2 produced the first upset of this World Cup. Another red card compromised the Serbs, and the Ghanaians benefited from a needless handball penalty. Asamoah Gyan, scorer of Ghana's first World Cup finals goal in 2006, did the needful. Well done, Black Stars. You deserve to go through. Rating: 3.5/5

GERMANY 4 - AUSTRALIA 0

The first convincing team performance saw the exuberant youthful Teutons thrash the hapless geriatric Ozzies. Four excellent goals from four excellent team-players. Can Miroslav Klose with his 11th finals goal break Ronaldo's record? Can the Germans go all the way? This team looks good, and Ingerland had better watch out should they finish 2nd in their group. Rating: 4/5
