FIFA WORLD CUP 2010: Day 6 (16 June 2010)

CHILE 1 - HONDURAS 0

Chile looked good going forward but lacked the finishing touch, with the exception of a double ricochet goal that came off a Honduran defender and finally Chile's Beausejour. Chile's first win since 1962. Should give Spain a tough fight. Rating: 2.5/5

SWITZERLAND 1 - SPAIN 0

The shock of the competition thus far. Spanish Armada fired blanks throughout and were sunk by a Route One goal that was scrambled into the net by Gelson Fernandes. Villa, Torres and Silva had no reply and the Swiss defended stoutly. Fact: The Swiss have yet to concede a single Finals goal since Germany 2006. Rating: 3.5/5
SOUTH AFRICA 0 - URUGUAY 3

A masterclass of finishing from Uruguay's Diego Forlan: two goals - the first a swerver from long range, and the second a coolly taken penalty. Bafana Bafana have only themselves to blame for not being creative enough. Will they be the first host nation to exit in the first round? Rating: 4/5
