Photographs from BARCLAYS ASIA TROPHY 15 July 2015

The Barclays Asia Trophy was held for the first time in Singapore, bringing together three teams from England's famed Premier League in competition with a Singapore Selection. Held at the National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub, thousands of football-crazed and quality starved Singapore fans attended the first day's matches on Wednesday 15 July 2015. They were not to be disappointed.

The Arsenal team warms up, including the goalkeepers
Emi Martinez and Wojciech Szczesny (who looks much
fitter without his cigarettes), while Per Mertersacker
and Jack Wilshire to their stretching exercises.
The team lin-ups. But no Cech, no Koscielny, no Ramsay,
no Cazorla, no Alexis, no Walcott, no Giroud!
The team mascots. Only Gunnersaurus is swamped with selfies.
Singapore on the attack.
The lead up to Arsenal's first goal,
which was scored by Chuba Akpom.

Singapore attacks with a corner,
but with no end result.
The Kallang Wave.
Penalty No.1, scored by Jack Wilshire.

Penalty No.2. Chuba Akpom makes no mistake.

Hector Bellerin crosses into the box...
...and Chuba Akpom heads it in for his hattrick!
All the Arsenal stars on the bench.
Olivier Giroud, Calum Chamber, Santi Cazorla (back)
Mesut Özil, Peter Cech, Laurent Koscielny (front).
Özil looks pissed because he cannot
face the mighty Singapore.
Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger
waves to the crowd and gets the applause.
That's the final score. Singapore Selection manager
V.Sundramoorthy meets Wenger.
BFG's man-bra looks mighty hilarious.
Arsenal players acknowledge the fans.
In an earlier match, Everton and Stoke City
played to a 0-0 snore-fest, in which
the appearance of former England international and
human beanpole Peter Crouch was the only highlight.
For the record, Everton won 5-4 on penalties, and will face
Arsenal on Saturday for the Barclay Asia Trophy.
Here Romelu Lukaku converts his spot-kick.
Whether its Mahler 8 or football,
we both had a good time.
