TWO PRIZE-WINNING PIANISTS

PERFORM IN SINGAPORE THIS WEEKEND:

ERIC LU & LUCA BURATTO

The Covid pandemic may not be over but this has not stopped the flow of good music. Two world-class prize-winning pianists will perform this weekend in Singapore. They are ERIC LU, who performs two solo recitals on Saturday and Sunday (8 & 9 January 2021) and LUCA BURATTO who partners with Singaporean violinist TANG TEE KHOON in four duo recitals, also on Saturday and Sunday (8 & 9 January 2021).

ERIC LU

History was made in 2018 when Eric Lu became the first American pianist to be awarded First Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition since Murray Perahia in 1972. In 2019, he substituted for an indisposed Martha Argerich, performing Chopin’s First Piano Concerto with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

He offers two different programmes:

8 January (SOTA Concert Hall, 7.30 pm)

SCHUMANN Waldszenen, Op.82

SCHUBERT Sonata in A major, D.959

9 January (Victoria Concert Hall, 7.30 pm)

SCHUBERT Sonata in A minor, D.784

SCHUBERT Sonata in A major, D.959
