The Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) held its annual opera ball on Friday (14 July 2023) at the Grand Ballroom of the Fullerton Hotel. It was a suitably glitzy affair, and post-pandemic, the right occasion to pay tribute to SLO's out-going Chairman Toh Weng Cheong, who had served from 2005 to 2022. Present Chairman Arthur Fong presented the accolades besides reinforcing the need for support for Singapore's established and most venerated opera company. Want to hear more Carmen, Tosca, Faust and Aida and the great operas in Singapore? The Singapore Lyric Opera needs your support, and this Opera Ball went a long way to see that grand opera has a future in Singapore.
